The Pulawama terror attack has shattered the entire nation, the death of 40 martyrs left a deep scar on India that will take years to heal. COA (Committee of Administrators) announced that IPL will not have an opening ceremony this year and decided to distribute all the money to the families of 40 CRPF martyrs, who lost their life in Pulawama attack.
IPL has a history of launching every season of the IPL with a bang, the fusion of glitz, glamour packed with some electrifying performances by the Bollywood celebrities has been a treat to watch over the years, but nothing comes before nation.
The chairman of Committee of Administrators Vinod Rai said “We will not have any inaugural function for the IPL and the money budgeted for that goes to the martyrs’ families,”
The IPL will take off from March 23, the opening match will be played between defending champions Chennai super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium.
